Sixth Form

Thank you for taking the time to consider Laureate Academy for your sixth form studies. At Laureate Academy, we aim to develop independent, ambitious and successful individuals who set themselves high expectations. Our teachers are subject specialists and provide our students with high quality lessons and a rigorous curriculum to help them become independent scholars and critical thinkers.

Laureate students are provided with tailored guidance to help them with their academic endeavours, with many of our students going on to study at a wide range of institutions, including Russell Group universities.

Below is a small sample of the destinations our Y13s have gone onto in the past few years:
  • Loughborough University
  • Oxford Brookes University
  • Queen Mary University of London
  • SOAS
  • University of Nottingham
  • Warwick University

Alongside university, many of our students go onto to secure competitive degree-apprenticeships and we fully support students through this process.

Our Sixth Form Team are committed to supporting you with all of the stages of Post 16 life: from choosing your courses in Year 11, to developing expert knowledge and mature study habits at Post 16, to securing impressive university places (or employment) in Year 13. It is a privilege to support you at this pivotal time in your life as you make significant and exciting decisions about your future.

If you are eager to gain expert knowledge, to perform, analyse, argue and invent, if you want to build a community that is active and also outward-looking, then Laureate Academy is the sixth form for you.

Enrichment

Alongside the curriculum taught at Laureate Academy, Sixth Form provides an extensive range of enrichment and extracurricular opportunities to compliment academic studies; we incorporate regular external speakers, cubs and societies and external trips as we believe in providing our students with a holistic and enriching sixth form experience, where students can make the important transition from adolescence to adulthood.

Students at Laureate Academy Sixth Form benefit from working with the Future Academies Trust where a wide range of high-quality enrichment and extra-curricula opportunities are provided, including valuable and competitive work experience placements. Additionally this includes dedicated timetable time to enriching activities and access to a wide range of clubs, guest speakers and external trips. In recent years, sixth form students have represented Laureate Academy in competitive sport, enjoyed speakers including former high court judge, attended theatre trips, historic landmarks as well as visited top universities and met with leading providers of apprenticeships.
